Using this concept, the Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia) is transforming our institution from a temple of authoritative knowledge to one that ignites questions and thinking. Working across departments, Mia communicates and demonstrates that we are not a quiet and unchanging, but an active, visitor‑centered laboratory of wonder. By integrating visitor research and learning theory into our practice, offering an accessible environment, working with cross‑functional teams on exhibitions, and creating interactive experiences, Mia fuels connections and meaning-making.
