This presentation will briefly introduce the components of an emotion, and how the emotional brain may facilitate attention and memory, two mechanisms that are key for learning and education.

The role of emotions as elicited and expressed in museums will also be discussed, with particular reference to appraised affective relevance and to so-called epistemic emotions.
