Communicating the Museum conference agenda paris

A Humanist Museum

Tuesday 20 June
@ Grand Palais - Auditorium
09:00 AM
Keynote

Each day at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, our teams see the positive impact of Museum visits and creative workshops on young people, families, adults and seniors. Each day, our experts work hand-in-hand with specialists from various social and community, university and health agencies so that persons who are excluded because of their differences can gain a better sense of self.

After all, we believe it is our mission to welcome all individuals – regardless of their origins or conditions – to reach their potential. Shaping the young citizens of tomorrow, supporting adults and seniors to keep learning and discovering their capacities, the role of museums has found its second mission: a humanist Museum, a Museum of the people.

For more than 18 years now, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts has initiated wellness, social and community based activities, some of which have evolved into art-therapy programmes and even some scientific research pilot projects.

Working with more than 400 organizations, our education and wellbeing team at the MMFA, formed by 16 programme specialists, 30 educators and 143 docents, welcome every year in our 3,800 m2 education facilities more than 300,000 participants to its social, cultural and wellness activities.
