
Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (MNAC)
The Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya, located in Montjuic mountain in Barcelone, houses the biggest collection of Catalan art, from the 11th century to the 20th century, with Catalan and European works of the Romanesque period, the Gothic, the Renaissance, the Baroque and Nineteenth & Twentieth-Century art. The permanent collection includes paintings, sculptures, decorative arts, prints, drawings, numismatics and photographs. There are also major temporary exhibitions. In December 2004 MNAC will open a major extension which will provide 44,123 square meters of exhibition spaces.
