The exhibition sheds light on less known components of Impressionism and other artistic movements to convey a comprehensive picture of the late 19th century: the quarrel of Ancient and Moderns at the Salons, Hispanism in Paris, Realism, women painters will be some of the main sections to show Impressionism has not said everything about itself yet.
This exhibition is jointly curated by the Musée D'Orsay and the Fundacion Mapfre at the occasion of the closing of the Musée d'Orsay Impressionist galleries.
