The DX Lab builds and supports new ways of design thinking, expe- rimentation and research with technology. The DX Lab needed to update its website, which is built in-house, to reflect current design principles and showcase innovative experiments.
The Lab delivers creative, engaging and new ways to explore the Library’s collections, working with the latest and emerging techno- logies to present data sets and services through digital experiments. Online visitors get a sense of what the DX Lab does straight away.
• Explaining DX Lab’s role via a large intro masthead.
• Featuring experiments more prominently on the home page. • Giving the design an unfinished, in-progress feel
• Creating the platform La 3e scene, the 3rd Stage
Since launching, there has been an increase in web traffic and great feedback from peers about the design and user experience.
The Learning Services team, a major user of the website, indicated that they find showing the experiments to teachers and students easier than before.
Next steps include adding more experiments and blog posts sharing the information behind the making of all our work.
