The Nouveau Musée National de Monaco (NMNM) opening to the press this 7 June is about to unravel its hidden treasures to the public of Monaco and from all over the world.
Under the NMNM logo are two exceptional venues, one with its own mission.
The Villa Sauber will be dedicated to the theme “Art and Performance” with a series of exhibitions bringing contemporary artists to look again at the heritage collections of the principality under the title “Looking up”.
At the Villa Paloma, the theme “Art and Territory” will give a contemporary artist the opportunity to develop a specific project in the space and gardens. By proposing two exhibitions per year in each location, the NMNM wants to encourage the public to open up to contemporary work while rediscovering a neglected heritage.
Scale models, sculptures, photographs and video; the different works of Yinka Shonibare MBE will be the guiding thread, leading us to rediscover the rarely or never displayed collections which form the history of the Monaco's Art. Monte Carlo was and remains today the home of artistic life and is particularly famous for performing arts.
